OHADA (or the “Organisation pour l’Harmonisation en Afrique du Droit des Affaires”) is a system of harmonised business laws and implementing institutions adopted by sixteen West and Central African nations.

Several of our members have recently been recognised by LEX4.com as the best OHADA law firms in Africa. These awards have also been endorsed by Ohada.com.

Our members in Cameroon, Guinea Conakry and DRC were all ranked in the top 5 OHADA law firms in their countries.

  • D.Moukouri & Partners is ranked 9th out of the top 50 OHADA firms, 3rd best in Cameroon and 2nd in the top 5 women-led OHADA business law firms in Cameroon.
  • Thiam & Associés is ranked 14th out of the top 50 OHADA firms and 2nd best in Guinea Conakry.
  • Emery Mukendi Wafwana & Associés is ranked as the 5th best OHADA firm in the DRC.

Pieter Steyn, Chairperson of LEX Africa, said “We congratulate our members and are very proud of their achievements.  LEX Africa is particularly focussed on developing our presence in Francophone Africa and we currently have members in 8 Francophone countries”.
