Susan-Barbara is a Partner and Head of the Corporate Commercial practice group of the firm. She is a dual qualified lawyer in Ghana and New York State and has over 25 years’ experience in legal practice. She has extensive experience in corporate and commercial transactions. She has worked on several high value corporate transactions for both international and Ghanaian corporations. Her expertise covers telecommunications, media and technology. She has the requisite in-depth expertise and experience to structure, negotiate and advise a wide range of clients, multinational corporations and individuals on high level transactions.

Her clients include Scancom PLC, Vodafone, ATC Tower (Ghana) LTD, Samsung Electronics SA, Cargill Trade and Capital Markets and DigitalGov LTD.

  • Advised Diageo, on the sale of its entire majority shareholding in a Ghanaian beverages manufacturing company (which is listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange).
  • Advised On a proposed acquisition by a British payments network of the entire issued shares of the sole shareholder of a company in Ghana.
  • Advised Solevo MEA B.V., a leading distributor of chemicals and inputs for specific industrial and agricultural segments in Africa on its proposed investment in Louis Dreyfuss Limited, a global agricultural merchant and processor.
  • Advised Massmart Holdings Limited, on its disposal of Game stores.
  • Advised Vodafone International Holdings B.V., a telecommunications company, on the disposal of its shares
  • Balton CP Limited, an Africa-focused agribusiness company, on the proposed sale of its shares.
  • Advised on review and negotiation of term sheet, facility agreement and security agreement for a syndicated GHS 510 million loan facility.
  • Assisted with financing documentation and equity investment agreements for a fibre infrastructure services company.
  • Advised a software company on the software development agreement with the Ghana Cocoa Board for an integrated cocoa management platform;
  • Supported three fintech companies in negotiating payment platform services agreements for government revenue collection.
  • Advised on negotiations for the biometric voter registration and management system contract with the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
  • Counselled the transaction advisor for the design-build-finance-operate-maintain biometric passport system, including review and negotiation of a PPP contract.
