LEX Africa welcomes new members for Algeria and Rwanda

It gives us great pleasure to announce that two new members have joined the LEX Africa Alliance which now covers 28 African countries with over 600 lawyers.

Loucif + Co (Algeria) and Certa Law (Rwanda)

Loucif + Co is an independent firm based in Algiers specialising in business law. The firm was founded by Rym Loucif, a French-Algerian lawyer who returned to her native Algeria after being educated in Paris and London and working at first-tier corporate law firms in Paris.

Loucif + Co offers its clients and in-depth knowledge of the Algerian market and all fields of business law including in highly regulated and core sectors of the Algerian economy such as energy (Oil & Gas in particular), the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and transport.

Founder of the firm, Rym Loucif says, “We are delighted to join the prestigious member firms in the LEX Africa network. Our membership will allow us to build strong relationships with high end independent law firms in Africa and expand our capabilities in order to serve our clients increasing needs across the continent.”

Certa Law was founded by Florence KABASINGA and is an established corporate law firm in Kigali. Their philosophy is to help their clients to achieve their goals while minimising legal risk. In addition to its expertise and experience in dispute resolution, corporate M&A and regulatory matters, the firm has also successfully brought several public interest and pro bono cases.

Ms Florence KABASINGA says, “Certa is excited to join an alliance of top-tier law firms in different jurisdictions in Africa. Our Firm is currently a top-tier law firm in Rwanda and a leading law firm in the East Africa region. We aim to be the premier law firm in Rwanda and have no doubt joining LEX Africa will contribute to this goal.”

Chairperson of LEX Africa, Pieter Steyn says “We are delighted to have new members in Algeria and Rwanda.  This expands our footprint in North, East and Francophone Africa.  Both new members are female led firms which supports LEX Africa’s strategy of actively promoting female lawyers and diversity in the African legal market”

“We look forward to working with both our new members. LEX Africa remains the first and largest African Legal Alliance with an established track record of advising and assisting clients in Africa since 1993.”
