LEX Africa wins African Network/Alliance of the Year at the African Legal Awards 2023

LEX Africa was declared the African Network/Alliance of the Year at the 10th African Legal Awards ceremony in Johannesburg, South Africa on 1 September. Chairperson Pieter Steyn says, “We are delighted and proud by this recognition of LEX Africa especially as it coincides with our 30th anniversary. Since our formation in 1993, we have grown the Alliance to over 700 lawyers in 30 African countries.” We congratulate the following LEX Africa members: 

 ·   Thiam & Associés in Guinea Conakry for winning the West African Law Firm of the Year (Medium-Sized Firm) category.

·    Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah in Ghana, for winning the Capital Markets Team of the Year (Medium Sized Firm) category.

·    I&I Law Firm in Morocco which was shortlisted as African Law Firm of the Year – North Africa.  

·    Corpus Legal Practitioners in Zambia which was shortlisted as M&A Team of the Year.

·    Bernard Hotz from Werksmans Attorneys in South Africa who was shortlisted as Partner of the Year – Southern Africa.

·    Baba Hady Thiam from Thiam & Associés in Guinea Conakry who was shortlisted as Partner of the Year – West Africa

·    Werksmans Attorneys in South Africa which was shortlisted as Private Equity Team of the Year.

·    Jonathan Amable from Bentsi-Enchill Letsa & Ankomah in Ghana, Amadou Barry from Thiam & Associés in Guinea Conakry and Absalão Mapanze from JLA Advogados in Mozambique who were shortlisted for the Private Practice Rising Star Award.
