LEX Africa launches New Guide to Oil & Gas in Africa

The African continent has abundant petroleum resources and a thriving upstream oil and gas industry. Appropriate legal regimes are necessary to deal with the peculiar challenges and constraints related to the development and utilisation of oil and gas resources.  In addition, the exploration and production of oil and gas resources requires significant investment, and investors need to understand the laws, risks and opportunities related to investments in particular countries before making investment decisions.

Says LEX Africa chairperson, Pieter Steyn, “we are delighted to presentย The LEX Africa Guide to Oil & Gas Investment and Projects in Africaย which provides an overview of the legal, regulatory and commercial issues underlying upstream oil and gas regimes in 18 African countries.ย ย I thank contributing members as well as our Ghanaian LEX Africa colleagues at Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah who edited the guide”.

LEX Africa has over 700 lawyers in 29 African countries and effectively covers the entire African continent.  Formed in 1993, LEX Africa has a track record of over 30 years in advising and assisting clients in Africa.  Please visit www.lexafrica.com for contact details and more information on LEX Africa members.
