The Public Private Partnership Bill of 2012 was finally passed by Parliament on 1 July 2015 and assented to by the President of Uganda on 5 August 2015. The Act will govern the relationship between government and private entities in public private partnerships and provide for guidelines and procedures for the development of PPP projects.
It also provides for methods of procurement and the engagement of the private partners in PPPs and the roles and responsibilities of government bodies, project officers and the private entity during the development and implementation of the PPP projects.
