Call to attend the 10th IBA Competition Conference – February 2014
Theย Antitrust Committee of the International Bar Associationย (IBA) is holding a conference inย Cape Townย on 7 and 8 March 2014.
The conference is being sponsored byย LEX Africa and theย South Africanย LEX Africaย memberWerksmansย and will focusย onย African competition lawย developments and comparative international trends. Werksmans has advised clients onย competition lawย in several African countries and lodged the first ever merger filing under the new COMESA merger control regime in February 2013.
Theย full conference programmeย will include panels onย dominant firms,ย cartels, the newย COMESA merger control regimeย and a regulators round table with theย European Competition Commissioner Almunia,ย USA Federal Trade Commissioner Ohlhausen,ย COMESA Director Lipimile,ย Kenyan Competition Authority Director General Kariuki, theย Russian FAS Chairman Artemyevย and theย South African Commissioner Tembinkosi Bonakele.
