LEX Africa member for Reunion honoured by French President – April 2015
Mr Thierry Gangate of LEX Africa member for Reunion Island, Gangate & Associes, has been appointed as a Chevalier de la Lรฉgion dโHonneur (a Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour) in recognition of his work as a lawyer and former President of the Saint-Pierre bar association in Reunion. The Legion of Honour was created by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802 and is Franceโs oldest and highest distinction. The recipients of this honor are appointed by a personal decision of the French President.
Mr Gangate has also been reelected as the Vice President of the French Confรฉrence des Batonniers, a professional organisation of current and former presidents of bar associations throughout France. It is committed inter-alia to supporting the legal profession, improving the administration of justice and advancing the rule of law in France.
