Ghana: Acting as sub-consultant to PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana Limited as legal Transaction Advisor to the Ministry of Transport for the Boankra Inland Project and the Eastern Railway Line.
Guinea: Counsel to a major mining company in relation to the development of its USD 5 billion for the construction and operation of the Bauxite mining project, the rehabilitation of an existing port and rail, implementation of a multi-user railway between competitors, and the construction of a deep sea port terminal.
Morocco: Represented Decovar Orient WLL in the litigation opposing it to EDI Maroc (Les edifices du Maroc) relating to the performance of construction works in Morocco.
Mozambique: Legal assistance to a consortium on a EPC agreement.
Nigeria: Advised a multinational cement company on its $500 million expansion programme at Ewekoro Cement Plant. The project involved reviewing the engineering, procurement and construction contract, reviewing the operations and management agreement as well as the power purchase agreement.
South Africa: Acting for Life Healthcare in a damages action instituted against the architect, principal agent, structural engineer and contractor arising from the negligent demolition of a load-bearing wall at one of our client’s private healthcare facilities and the subsequent need to demolish the entire wing of the facility.
Tanzania: Acted for a foreign company developing the Standard Gauge Railway project from Eastern Tanzania to West Tanzania in a project worth USD 1.2B+.
Zambia: Advisor to WBHO Construction (PTY) Limited on the development, construction and operation of a 580-kilometre railway line that will link the country’s copper mines such as Barrick Gold Lumwana mine and First Quantum’s Kansanshi and Kalumbila mine to Chingola to facilitate the movement of copper and copper-related cargo.
Zimbabwe: Involved in several litigation matters, challenging the developments on wetlands in various suburbs in Harare . The matters also involved prohibitions on local authority from developing and /or constructing on wetlands until and unless there is full compilance with the requirements of environmental management laws and planning laws.
