RECENT MATTERS

Ghana: Acting for Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) in connection with Legal Due Diligence and advisory services relating to the construction of an upscale hospitality project and GIIF’s equity investment.

Kenya: Acted for America Tower International, Inc. in their acquisition of 715 tower sites from Telkom Kenya Limited. We advised on the transfer of leases for all the sites to ATC.

Lesotho: We represent many clients on land disputes. We also register land use titles and securities over land. We also call up the securities.

Mozambique: Legal assistance on the sale of a hotel Premises.

South Africa: Represented Pan African Resources in the purchase of Evander Gold Mines Limited.

Tanzania: Worked with the contractor of a multi-billion dollar railway project (for financing purposes) on acquisition and compensation of land between Dar es Salaam and Morogoro.

Uganda: Advised the world’s largest tower operator on the acquisition of land for over 1000 BTS a process involving dealing with over nine hundred (900) different land lords.

Zambia: Advisor to Liberty Group Properties Development Limited, a company that engages in property investment, management and development, in respect of the construction and development of a hotel, supermarkets, restaurants and offices within the central business district in Lusaka.

Zimbabwe: The conveyancing department has been and is currently involved in the registration of transfers of residential stands worth approximately USD 50 thousand each from the Old Mutual to various buyers in a low density suburb called Bluff Hill on the outskirts of Harare. This particular phase would be worth in the region of USD 1.3 million.
